We're on the lookout for a Project Architect / Planner specializing in laboratory and related science facilities to join our dynamic Science and Technology Team. As a key member, you'll play a pivotal role in developing, executing, and completing programmatically complex, technologically advanced projects that define the future of science.
Responsibilities
Expand your knowledge and expertise in science facility design, positioning yourself as a leader within our firm and the industry.
Collaborate with our team of experts and technical professionals, providing guidance and eventually leading laboratory and related projects.
Actively engage in educational, social, and professional events, contributing to our business development initiatives.
Occasional travel to project sites outside your home region may be required.
Champion sustainable design solutions, integrating them seamlessly into our projects.
Prepare architectural documents and presentations essential for project progression.
Manage all project phases, demonstrating technical proficiency across projects of varying scales and complexities.
Supervise teams of all sizes, delegating tasks, coordinating work, and ensuring quality control.
Review and approve code analysis, material selections, and specifications.
Oversee construction document production and BIM model management.
Attend client meetings, fostering strong client relationships and collaboration with consultants.
Regularly communicate with Project Managers and Principals to ensure project alignment with our work plan, suggesting modifications when necessary.
Advocate for design excellence, inspiring team members and consultants to prioritize creative solutions.
Implement strategies to enhance documentation quality, mitigating project risks and sharing knowledge with junior staff.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
Registered or working toward registration.
7+ years of experience in an architecture office, with at least five years focusing on laboratory design or Science and Technology projects.
Strong knowledge of laboratory planning and design principles, standards, guidelines, and codes.
Demonstrated ability to lead design, documentation, and construction administration processes.
Proficiency in Revit is essential.
Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop, Sketch-Up, Rhino, 3D Max, and Photoshop is advantageous.
Experience in Laboratory and Science Projects within Higher Education, Pharmaceutical, Health Science, and Corporate R&D sectors is preferred.
